The world’s most popular scattering plugin for 3ds Max

The parametric modelling plugin for 3ds Max

Forest Pack is the world’s most popular scattering plugin for 3ds Max®. It provides a complete solution for creating vast areas of objects, from trees and plants to buildings, crowds, aggregates, ground-cover, rocks and more. If you can model it, Forest Pack can scatter it.

Countless studios rely on Forest Pack’s production-tested algorithms and native shaders to render scenes with virtually unlimited numbers of objects and polygons, all without putting a strain on computer resources.

Simulate natural distribution patterns and get the most out of your assets using advanced mapping and randomisation tools, or fine-tune your scatters with granular control over every aspect of the plugin.

Forest Pack 7: See The Light

Create without restrictions using Forest Pack and take your renders to the next level.

Architectural visualization goes beyond showing form and function. It’s about conveying emotion. Igniting a feeling. Showing how spaces affect people on a deeper level. Lumion 12 empowers you to tell a story about your design that will move and inspire.

Scatter Lights

Scatter hundreds or thousands of lights and other non-geometric objects. Corona users can even use Forest Colour to randomise light tint and power.

New Unity Plugin (Beta)

Export Forest Pack objects to Unity using an experimental new plugin that takes advantage of Unity’s Hybrid Rendering technology for efficient real-time instancing.

Supported by Unreal and Chaos Vantage

Make the jump to real-time and export scatters to Unreal Engine or Chaos Group’s Project Vantage in just a few clicks.

Rewritten Library Browser

The libary browser has been rewritten from the ground up. Add 100s of objects selected from a scene and automatically build matlibs and generate thumbnails.

Colour Correct Entire Scatters

Gone are the days of fiddling with complex multi sub object materials, now you can colour correct entire scatters from a single simplified interface.

Randomise Animation in Corona

Scatter animated objects in Corona including the ability to sample and randomise animated geometry or control playback using maps.

New Tree Stumps Library

Bring your renders to life with 40 high-quality photo-scanned tree stumps plus optimised presets for quickly populating large areas.

New Hedges Library

Add hedges using a new library or 89 assets. 10 species are included in five heights ranging from 0.5m to 2.5m, plus bonus topiary presets for hedges of any shape.

Improved Reference Mode

Make the most of reference mode with the ability to add multiple items per triangle, randomise their position and filter by material ID.

Forest Colour works outside Forest Pack

Use Forest Colour to randomise maps and tint on items instantiated using Forest Tools, or even on non-Forest objects.

Simplified Creation

Create scatters more efficiently than ever before with new creation methods and faster ways to add source objects to the items list.

Improved Usability

Navigate the interface more quickly with ‘Solo Mode’, use simplified and improved camera culling, easily optimise and modify materials and much more.

Tired of using fixed, hard to modify, assets that require time-consuming manual labour to edit? Wish it was easier to create smart parametric objects that are easy to update, can be used and reused again and again, but requires minimal time investment? Enter RailClone – the artist-friendly parametric modelling and spline-cloning plugin for 3ds Max that’s fast, efficient, and easy-to-learn.

RailClone is unlike any other tool on the market. Objects are created simply by assembling and repeating existing geometry using an easy-to-define set of rules. If you can model in Max, you can create procedural objects with RailClone

Choose from hundreds of built-in presets, adapt existing objects by adding your own geometry, or even create your own from scratch using RailClone’s easy-to-understand visual editor

Artist-friendly parametric modelling and layout for 3ds Max

The artist-friendly parametric modelling and spline-cloning plugin for 3ds Max that’s fast, efficient, and simple. Objects are created by assembling, repeating and deforming geometry using an easy-to-define set of rules.

Base Objects

RailClone doesn’t construct an object from scratch, it works by assembling and repeating existing pieces of geometry along paths. To do this it needs two things – a spline for the path and of course, some modular geometry.

Rule Generators

Imagine you’re explaining to a manufacturer how to build this bus shelter, you might say: “Put a glass panel at the start and the end, add mullions at 2m intervals, then fill in between with the roof and glazing.” If you understand this, you understand RailClone.

Just like Max, RailClone has its own modifiers, called operators, that are used to manipulate geometry. You can group items, create patterns, randomise transforms, UVs and materials IDs, create conditional relationships and much more.
